About Wild Loon

Our Story

Wild Loon Winery represents the convergence of two passionate journeys in regenerative agriculture and sustainable craft beverages. Launched by Alia Nikooforsat and Frank Buncom IV, we're transforming the former Meade Hill Winery into a model of ecological stewardship and innovation.

Our story begins with a deep respect for the land and the legacy of Mike Lacefield, his daughter Kelly, and their family who built Meade Hill Winery from the ground up. We're honored to carry forward their dedication to quality winemaking while introducing our unique vision of integrating wine production with medicinal mushroom cultivation.

This synergy isn't just about co-location—it's about creating a circular economy where grape pomace becomes mushroom substrate, which then returns to the vineyard as nutrient-rich compost. It's permaculture in action, where every element supports the whole.

Alia Nikooforsat

Our winemaker, Alia, leads our tasting room experiences and event coordination, bringing warmth and hospitality to every visitor. She manages customer relationships, leads vineyard care, and creates the welcoming atmosphere that makes Wild Loon special. Alia dedicates herself to ensuring every guest has a memorable experience.

Frank Buncom IV

Frank brings experience from establishing S&S Friendly Ranch, an education-focused nonprofit farm. His commitment to regenerative agriculture and landcare practices shapes Wild Loon's approach to vineyard management. Frank oversees vineyard operations, regenerative agriculture implementation, and the integration with MushLoon.
